Murmurs helps teams find public social posts where their business may have something useful to say. This policy explains what information we handle when you visit our site or use the service, why we handle it, and what choices you have. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@murmurs.im.
Information we collect
- Account and team details. When you sign in, we receive account identifiers, your name, email address and profile image from our authentication provider. We store your project memberships and roles. If an owner invites someone, we store the invitee's email address, invitation status and role.
- Business and project details. You provide a project name and website, and may add a description, keywords, categories, saved views and a project image. We fetch publicly available content from the website you provide and may research other public web pages to suggest keywords and describe the business. A manual refresh can fetch the website again. We keep the website content we fetch to support those features.
- Public social posts. We periodically search public posts for your active keywords and store matching post text, links, author names and handles, available media links, engagement data and analysis results. Relevant posts appear in your Conversations inbox; others can be reviewed in Filtered. We also keep your team's changes to post status and relevance.
- Billing and technical information. For paid plans, we store plan, subscription status, billing period and usage details. Creem handles checkout and payment as merchant of record; we do not collect payment card numbers ourselves. We and our service providers may process basic device, browser, IP address, request and error information needed to operate and secure the site.
How we use information
We use it to sign you in, manage team access, set up and run projects, monitor keywords, analyze and sort posts, show your inbox, administer subscriptions and limits, send invitations when email delivery is available, provide support, troubleshoot problems and protect the service. Automated analysis helps decide whether a post is worth joining and may assign it to a category; it can be wrong. Your team can review filtered posts and restore them to Conversations.
Who receives information
We use providers for authentication, hosting and storage, public web research, social-post retrieval, AI-assisted setup and post analysis, email delivery and payment processing. We share only information needed for those functions. For example, AI processing may receive your business description, matched keywords and post text and metadata so it can evaluate the conversation; website research uses the URL and public content of the website you submit. Creem receives information needed to process purchases and manage subscriptions under its own payment terms and privacy practices.
Project members can see project content according to their role, including collected public posts, keywords and project settings. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and local storage
Sign-in and session features use cookies or similar browser storage. If you enter a website on the homepage before signing up, your browser temporarily saves that address in session storage so it can be carried into onboarding. We also save interface preferences locally, such as your theme and most recently opened project. You can control cookies and site storage through your browser; blocking essential sign-in storage may prevent the service from working.
Retention and deletion
We keep project details and collected posts while the project exists so the inbox remains available, including after monitoring pauses. An owner can delete a project in its settings; deletion removes its project data through a background process and cancels its linked subscription. Some records may remain for a limited time in backups or where needed for legal, security or accounting purposes. Deleting a project does not by itself delete your sign-in account or another team's projects. To request deletion of your account information, email hello@murmurs.im.
Your choices and rights
You can edit project details and keywords, manage team invitations, and delete a project if you are its owner. You may also ask us to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing where applicable law provides those rights. Contact hello@murmurs.im; we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Public posts originating on another platform may still exist there even after they are removed from Murmurs.
Security, location and changes
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than yours; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. This policy may change as the product evolves. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required by law.
